Malama Wao Akua is my favorite art exhibit every year on Maui. One thing that makes it special is that students' art is hung in a beautiful gallery alongside professional artists (like myself!). My other favorite thing about this exhibit is that all the art features the native animals and plants of Maui. I am offering two free Zoom Art classes to young artists who want help creating a work of art to enter in this exhibit. Space is limited!

About teaching artist Maggie SutrovI am a professional artist and teacher here on Maui. I teach art at Pomaika'i Elementary School. When schools turned to social distancing, I began making video art tutorials for kids. Your child can enjoy these here. I also teach live online classes for kids through Outschool.
My art has been exhibited in Malama Wao Akua numerous times, as well as art by students of mine. I love to paint on site throughout Maui, especially when surrounded by native plants and animals. (That's me painting at Auwahi after helping plant trees.). Instagram: @maggie_paints, @artintegration You can reach me at maggietsutrov (at) gmail (dot) com |
